Mount Pleasant Eco Park, Porthtowan

Pitch up a tent under the apple trees or rent one of the glamping bell tents or shepherd’s huts, and walk straight down to the shores of Porthtowan Beach via a connecting path. The Mount Pleasant Eco Park is a special place, having been developed over the last 18 years as a unique community resource.

It offers a variety of indoor and outdoor spaces for public use and private hire, plus a campsite, all set within 42 acres of organic farmland, in an area of outstanding natural beauty on the north Cornish coast, Porthtowan.

This sprawling eco-park even serves up vegan breakfasts from its on-site café, there are solar-powered showers.

Roundhouses at East Thorne, Kilkhampton

The Roundhouses at East Thorne offers ten en-suite, private Roundhouses with hot tubs, providing an exclusive experience for guests to enjoy all year round.

Some Roundhouses sleep two, but there are options and others with internal cabin rooms suitable for families, couples and those travelling with pets.

Tree of Life Horsebox Holidays, St. Agnes

Nestled in the woodland of an organic smallholding just two miles from the sea, the Tree of Life renovated horsebox is the perfect off-grid hideaway for two.

This traditional wooden horsebox has been renovated into a beautiful, comfortable living space with a double bed area. Situated in a small wooded area with its own private garden space and exclusive facilities, overlooking a traditional hay meadow, the horsebox is kitted out with wood for the logburner, organic cotton towels and a working kitchen, extra guests are welcome to pitch up tents in the adjacent meadow.

St. Agnes Heritage Coast is closeby, offering a beautiful walk from the horsebox connected by footpaths. The coastal villages of St. Agnes and Perranporth are close, with wonderful beaches, good facilities and lots of places to eat out.

Soul Camping, Port Isaac

Soul Camping’s beautiful bell tents offer the perfect sanctuary for relaxation after a day exploring the coast. Nestled in a secluded meadow in North Cornwall, a 20 minute walk from Port Isaac, you can stay in a high quality canvas bell tent furnished with real beds and Egyptian cotton bedding.

Each tent has a campfire and tripod for cooking, its own private composting loo and table and chairs. The tents are lit by solar lights, with hand woven rugs on the floor and hampers to keep your clothes in.

The tents make enormous retreats for a couple, where a tea set, ice bucket and champagne flutes can be provided on request to make your stay special. And for families with children, there are a wide range of items available on request including cots, high chairs and dressing up clothes.

Wildflower Wood Eco Glamping, St Ives

From the snug of your landpod bed nestled in a pocket of wild woodland, soak in the views across St Ives Bay to Godrevy Lighthouse at Beersheba’s Wildflower Wood Eco Glamping. Just a mile from the sea, this five-acre site is the perfect place to unplug with walks, fishing and pony trekking all in easy reach.

At Wildflower Wood you can enjoy the great outdoors in one of five lovely Landpods. Unwind in this peaceful woodland overlooking the golden sands of St Ives Bay. The cosy accommodation is well-spaced on the sea-facing side of the woodland.

Each luxury Landpod has its own cooking, dining and firepit area, and private bathroom facilities in the site facilities area a short distance from the Landpods.

Pleasant Streams Farm Camping

This is indeed a very pleasant field in which to pitch a tent. In 2020 Pleasant Streams Farm introduced three spacious, kitted-out bell tents.

Sleeping four comfortably in proper beds with bedding, they each have an outdoor covered kitchen which has a camping stove, cool box and all the equipment you’ll need. The Bell tents are in a quiet, tucked-away corner by a stream with a rope swing while campers with their own tents are spread freestyle between two meadows.

There’s a lake in the centre of one of the two camping fields which not only attracts wildlife, but also beckons you to hop in the rowing boat for an afternoon afloat. Off site it’s a ten-minute stroll to the local pub in Sticker, four miles to the coast, five miles to St Austell and eight miles to The Eden Project.

Surf Pods at Atlantic Farm, Bude

The trendy eco-pods at Atlantic Farm Bude have a cool, minimalist design but still contain a king-size bed, solar lighting and cooking essentials.

Outside you will find a gas BBQ, dining furniture, giant beanbags and your own flush loo and heated shower. Nearby Bude is all about beaches and surfing, and there are some very good takeaways in Bude that you can take back to your eco-pod if you don’t fancy cooking.

Crooklets beach is just a 15-minute drive away and is clean, safe and picturesque. Its sloped promenade offers easy access, though those with pets may want to pop over to dog-friendly Summerleaze beach instead.

The Little Cider House

A harmonious hideaway for the whole family (furry pals included), The Little Cider House is the place to rehabilitate your tech-hungry clan with the thrills of nature.

Boasting a hot tub in the backyard and a nearby pub, this house allows even parents to escape from their everyday routine. The interior provides preppy decor, including stunning wallpaper and navy blue accents.

One of the most famous attractions is The Lost Gardens of Heligan, one of Cornwall’s best places to visit. An oasis of thriving greenery and budding blooms, these gardens live true to their name, as you’ll be sure to get lost in its sheer magnitude and beauty.

Hideaway Huts, Looe

These two fully furnished shepherd’s huts at opposite ends of a farm in Looe Valley enjoy enviable views, one with a wood-fired hot tub from which to enjoy it all. Each includes a double bed, twin gas-ring cooker, table and chairs and a log burner.

On the Hideaway Huts site there is a riding school, tennis court, heated outdoor swimming pool, indoor playroom including table tennis and pool, and an outdoor playground, as well as 150 acres of farmland to explore. Head down the slopes towards the quintessential harbour town of Looe (a 10-minute drive away).
