The coronavirus outbreak and resulting lockdowns sadly forced many businesses to temporarily close their doors, but lots of cafes and restaurants in Bude started offering food delivery and takeaways for the very first time.
Since restrictions lifted however, these local businesses in Bude have found that their delivery and takeaway services have continued to boom.
La Bocca Pizza Kitchen
La Bocca is one of our favourite pizza restaurants in North Cornwall!
They re-opened for takeaways and delivery after being completely closed for the first few weeks of the first lockdown, and are now fully open for in-person dining, and both pick-up takeaways and delivery.
Their entire menu is available for both takeaway/collection and delivery (delivery is free if the order value is over £20), including all of their delicious hand-stretched made-to-order pizzas.
The Bank Tapas & Grill
The Bank is Bude’s resident tapas bar, creating the most delectable Spanish and Cornish tapas using local produce, and it made us very happy when we discovered they were open for takeaways during the lockdown!
The offer takeaway/collection as well as delivery with the Just Eat app, Thurs-Sat evenings from 5pm to 9pm. Order a few tapas to share, or try one of their famous burgers!
Temple Cornwall
Serving up some of Cornwall’s best local cuisine, Temple are located right in the heart of Bude.
One of the highest rated restaurants in Cornwall on TripAdvisor, and their food, created by Head Chef Craig Treggoning, is contemporary, seasonal, and truly local.
Temple use local Cornish fishermen, farmers, and growers which has helped them move closer to their goal of changing the food chain for the better.
Scrummies
Scrummies is a cafe in Bude town centre that specialises in fish and was still open daily for takeaways throughout lockdown.
These days ‘post-COVID’, they’re still running a takeaway service, so make sure you try their famous crab sandwiches, and they also offer one of the best fish and chips in Bude, with all of their crab and fish being caught by the owner of Scrummies from their boat, Dreamcatcher.
Lansdowne Bakery
Lansdowne Bakery are a family-run bakery located just across the road from Scrummies in the centre of Bude.
They’re open daily from 9am-3pm for both takeaways and delivery, with freshly-made Cornish pasties, fresh sandwiches, bread, cakes, scones, and other baked goods available.
They also sell basics such as milk and butter, so you can pick up any essentials while you’re there!
