South Allington House, Kingsbridge

South Allington House is a dog-friendly back-to-basics site, with an excellent location, nestled between Salcombe and Beesands, surrounded by stunning Devon beaches and nearby to the Kingsbridge Salcombe Estuary.

Dartmouth and Totnes are also within easy reach. Camp beside a Georgian manor and within an AONB. Explore charming Devon villages, the coastal path and more from this handy base. Spacious non-electric grass pitches offer a comfortable base.

The small and sheltered campsite is family-run and popular with young families, who have been visiting for generations.

Haldon Forest Park, Exeter

If you and your pooch are looking for a more adventurous camping trip, then Haldon Forest Park is the perfect place for you. Haldon Forest Holiday Park in Exeter is a mature and peaceful site, established over 35 years ago. They are family run, offering seasonal, touring and camping pitches in an idyllic setting.

With over 3,500 acres of forest to explore, you’ll never get bored here! There are also plenty of dog-friendly pubs and cafes nearby if you need to refuel after a long day of walks. 

The surrounding area also has a huge amount to do with the kids, and offers plenty for teenagers too.

Dartmouth Camping and Caravanning Club Site, Dartmouth

The Dartmouth Club Site is aptly named as the attractive harbour town is just a five minute drive away. This riverside campsite is the perfect base for exploring Dartmouth and the nearby towns of Totnes and Kingsbridge. Dogs are welcome in all areas of the site.

Spacious pitches, a large camping field and a family shower room are among the facilities on offer.

For history lovers there are nearby castles to explore, while Greenway is close and a magical place to explore. Once the holiday home of Agatha Christie it is now managed by the National Trust. For warm summer days there are beaches aplenty – beautiful Blackpool Sands is within walking distance.

Warcombe Farm, Mortehoe

Warcombe Farm Campsite is probably the most dog-friendly campsite we’ve come across. Not only do they provide a dog-washing area, but there’s a great dog exercise area in their Woodland, helping to make camping with dogs a great experience.

During the summer season there are sometimes dog shows at the park which provide fun for all the family, and dog grooming services are available locally too if your pet needs some pampering. 

From the campsite you can access the Southwest Coastal footpaths which lead to local beaches and the village of Mortehoe where most of the pubs are dog friendly.

Ruda Holiday Park, Croyde Bay

This beachfront holiday park has direct access to Croyde Bay, one of Devon’s most popular surfing beaches. Dogs have been welcome at the park since 2020, and are also welcome on the beach all year round as long as they are kept on a lead at all times.

Part of Parkdean holiday parks, Ruda Holiday Park has an indoor pool (not dog-friendly) and tennis courts. In the summer there’s beach volleyball and lots of activities for kids, too.

The surrounding area offers lots of activities keep you busy including the famous village of Clovelly, which is dog-friendly.

Woolacombe Sands Holiday Park, Woolacombe Bay

Another campsite near Woolacombe, Woolacombe Sands holiday park is situated right next to Woolacombe Beach, just a 15-min walk away, making it perfect for a seaside getaway with your pup. Dogs are welcome on the beach at any time of day.

With on-site swimming pools, family entertainment, and sea view cabins with hot tubs as well as camping and touring pitches, Woolacome Sands have everything you need for a dog-friendly, family-friendly holiday.

Enjoy a traditional Devonshire cream tea nearby, or explore one of the many dog-friendly beaches in North Devon and dog-friendly attractions.

Exe Valley Caravan Park, Tiverton

Set in 12 acres of meadows and woodland along the River Exe, the Exe Valley Caravan Park is an adults-only caravan and camping park that is the perfect place to escape from it all with your furry friend. Bring your motorhome or pitch up a tent!

Dogs are welcome throughout the site but must be kept on a lead at all times. The caravan park occupies a peaceful setting in a wooded valley within the Exmoor National Park and is set alongside the sparkling River Exe.

The campsite has beautiful views, an abundance of wildlife and many footpaths leading to the moors, woodlands and rivers. It is an ideal location for camping and country loving folk.
